Ocean Studies relies on raising money to meet the needs of our program. This money is used for improvements to our facility as well as supporting our curriculum.
PIZZA MONDAY: Yes! It is back!. Take a day off from making lunches on Monday. The children are welcome to enjoy a hot pizza lunch every Monday. The cost is $6.00 a week; we ask that families pay on a monthly basis this year. Children still need snacks for the day as well as their milk or water. See the office to sign up.
Mrs. Martha created a school garden project request through DonorsChoose.org.
Right now, any contribution you make to my project will be doubled by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation! Your donation will help provide a garden for a hands-on experience to educate our students in the areas of science, writing, nutrition, and more. You’ll get heartfelt thank yous from students and photos of your gift in action.
Here’s a link to my request:

The idea of the garden is that it will function as an ecosystem (permaculture) while also providing food. The creation of the garden will be incorporated into the science curriculum as well as providing an opportunity for integration into other subjects in the classroom. Our goal is to learn how to support our garden by filling compost tumblers with compost from our lunch and using collected rain water from the recycled rain barrel. We will also learn how important worms and decomposers are in an ecosystem while we supply nutrients for the garden with a worm farm. The children will grow plants from seed as they observe a plant’s life cycle. We are excited for Saige’s Garden!
To have your donation matched dollar for dollar, just make a contribution on that project page – donations will be doubled automatically, but only while funding lasts.
If you know anyone who might be passionate about this idea, please pass this along. The students and I greatly appreciate your support.
